Start Your Photography Season with PDCC
Our season started on Wednesday 9 September 2026 — We welcomed back our members, old and new and many prospective members! Wonderful to meet you all! Come Along and Discover the Club
Whether you’re new to photography, an experienced photographer looking for fresh inspiration, or simply want to enjoy your photography with other people, you’re invited to come along to any meeting night of Penrith & District Camera Club’s new season. You will be sure of a warm welcome.
Read on and and discover what we have planned for 2026–27.
Our opening evening will give you a taste of the different ways you can get involved with PDCC. You’ll:
- See members’ photography from our summer outings and activities.
- Discover our specialist groups, including Street, Creative and Audio-Visual photography.
- Hear from accomplished club photographers and see some of the work they have developed towards photographic distinctions.
- Preview this season’s three special topic series — Portrait Photography, Storytelling & Sequences, and Abstract Photography — combining inspiration, practical photography and opportunities to share the results.
- Find out about talks, practical evenings, competitions, outings, workshops and social activities planned throughout the season.
There’s no expectation that you enter competitions, own expensive equipment or already know everything about photography. Bring your photography enthusiasm — whether you currently shoot with a phone, an older camera or the latest equipment.
We meet on Wednesdays at 7:30pm – next event is:

Six members spent four days exploring street, architectural and urban photography together.

PDCC brings together photographers with different interests and levels of experience to learn, make photographs, share ideas and enjoy photography together.

- Regular outings across the Lake District and beyond
- Occasional day trips and weekends away
- Themed shoots (night, street, landscape, astro and more)

Black & white and creative techniques - Studio, lighting, and still life
- Astrophotography and night shooting
- Editing, printing, and presentation
- Storytelling, documentary, and personal projects
You can go as deep — or keep it as relaxed — as you like.
